6 days/5 nights relaxed and varied short break

This short break offers a relaxing and varied getaway. Combine riding, sightseeing and siesta.

Enjoy riding beautiful Spanish horses through the spectacular mountains of Sierra Nevada National Park during the morning. In the afternoon explore the charming whitewashed terraced villages of Berber origin.

Visit the historic Alhambra Palace and explore the narrow Morrish streets of Granada with some shopping added!!.

We are about an hour and 15 minutes from the coast allowing during the summer months an afternoon on the beach.

Please note that the sequence in which days 2,3 and 5 of the itinerary are arranged is flexiable as are the trails on the rides.

Itinerary

Day 1

Transfer from Malaga airport to the village of Bubion at designated time.

While in Bubion you will be staying in the charming Casa la Sevillana.

A comfortable guest house in the heart of the village and within minutes walk from the local restaurants and cafes.

Dinner with the rest of the riders and a briefing on the following days activities.

Day 2

After breakfast you will be driven the 5 kilometers to the stables where you will meet the horses.

The stables are situated at 1,650 meters elevation, possibly the highest stables in Europe!!.

Today the ride takes us up through the valley Poqueira following centuries old Moorish bridle paths and irrigation channels as they wind their way through the small terraced farms.

Picnic lunch on route. Approximately 3 hours riding.

During the afternoon we will drive you to the picturesque terraced village of Pampaneira.

Visit to the local weaving workshop, small chocolate factory, and a selection shops selling local produce.

Return to Bubion.

Day 3

Morning ride with picnic lunch, approx. 3 hours.

The route will take us high into the National park on a combination of bridle paths and foresty tracks, some good canter places for those who want a bit of a faster ride.

During the afternoon in the summer months (June, July, August, September) drive down to the beach for a swim.

Spring and Autumn months we will visit the village of Trevelez famous for its 'Jamon Serrano'. Here we will have a 'desgustacion' of ham and local wine.

Return to Bubion..

Day 4

Today after an early breakfast you will be driven (approximately one hour and 15 minutes) into Granada.

You will be dropped at the Alhambra Palace car park at 10am in time for the morning tour starting at 10.30.

Entrance tickets can be purchased direct at www.alhambra-ticket.es ,at the time of booking you will need your passport number.

Afternoon free to explore the old historical quarters of the city.

Meet the driver at the Alhambra car park for the return trip to Bubion..

If you prefer to spend the day in Bubion we are happy to take you out for a ride, or you may prefer to just relax in the village.

Day 5

A full day ride through the National and Natural Park following a combination of ancient bridle paths and forestry tracks.

Picnic lunch.

Between 5 and 6 hours

Day 6

Breakfast and depart for Malaga airport.

N.B

Please note that there are a number of small restaurants within a short walk of your accommodation and we are happy to make recommendations and reservations.

Depending on what you order dinner can range from 15€ to 45€. Alternatively there is a kitchen at you disposal in the Casa Sevillana if you wish to prepare your own meal at the house. 

AIRPORT TRANSFER:

Airport transfers from Malaga airport are included with this holiday.
